Back in the 1970s and ‘80s most of the great lamas from Tibet were still alive and teaching. Those of us who had the good fortune to be in India and Nepal at that time were able to benefit by sitting at their feet, drinking in the nectar of their holy speech.
Lamas teaching during that time included His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Ling Rinpoche, Trijang Rinpoche, Zong Rinpoche, Lama Thubten Yeshe, Lama Zopa Rinpoche and many more. These lamas endeavored to bring the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism -- in particular the Gelug tradition -- to the thousands of western students who traveled to India and Nepal during this time.
In 2005, the Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive compiled many of the transcripts from these teachings into a free publication titled Teachings From Tibet. The Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive's mission is to collect, catalog and publish the teachings of Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche to preserve this precious tradition and make the teachings freely available to anyone who wants them.
Over the years the Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive has received additional transcripts from these and other great Tibetan lamas, and we decided to make these all available on this website. Click on the menu above to see a list of teachings by teacher, or click on the tags on the right to see a list of teachings on a particular topic.
We have included a representative sample of the teachings of Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche on this site but please visit www.LamaYeshe.com to read many more.
May these teaching bring benefit to all who read them, and bring peace and happiness to the world.
